The drink called Dr Pepper Diet is one of the low-calorie products of the Dr Pepper family. The drink was launched in 1962, sales were very low because people thought it was a product for diabetics. In 1966, the name was changed to Dr Pepper Sugar Free. The name got its current form (Dr Pepper Diet) only in 1988. 

From 1991 to 2006, the drink had the following slogan: Dr Pepper Diet tastes better than the classic Dr Pepper.
